The Holy Prophet (Peace be upon him) had to be at home for house hold
chores and this was also under the authority of ALLAH. When he was in
his home, he divided his team in three parts.
Whenever the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) was indoor he kept himself busy in house keeping. he did household chores e.g cleaning the house, feeding the cattle tending the camels and goats,. He would work together with his servant. He himself use to go to bazaar and brought purchases in a piece of cloth. He himself put patches on his clothes and himself mended his shoes.
He used to go to bed early and got up just after midnight. He would then clean his teeth with miswak, perform ablutions and offer prayers. All sleeping time he never ate to his fill. He used to take adequate sleep. He neither slept in long periods nor kept himself awake unnecessarily. The Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) neither slept on ground, he had a mat, which was made of palm leaves.
The Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) used to place his right hand under his right cheek and recite the following supplication on going to bed. When he woke, he used to recite.
When the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) went to bed ad night he used to raise hands and pray and recite Surat-Ul-Ikhlas, Surat-Ul-Kafiroon, Surat-Ul-Falaq and Surat-Un-Nas.
The Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) never slept before Isha Prayer (night prayer). It was usual for the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) ti perform ablution before going to bed. If he woke up during any part of the night he would wash his hand before going to sleep again. At bed time, the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) used to discuss general matter with family members.
The Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) owned a coat of mail, bows arrows and shields. The Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) had three gowns which he used during jihad. He had a wooden cup and a glass cup. He had a sbeing which he used for performing ablutions. The Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) left neither dinars nor dirham and neither even a goat or camel. The Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) had a small plot of land which had already been given away as sadqa.
The Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) is great example in maintaining a treat of justice and equality towards his wives, but as for as love is concerned, the Holy Prophet used to say "O Allah all things over which i have control, i have divided equally among them, but do not contemn me for that which is beyond my control." He would rest against the knee of Hazrat Aisha and would recite the Holy Quran in the position the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) used to say "The best among you is he who trats his wife best, my behavior with my family members is the best of all of you. He used to visit all his wives everyday after Asar prayer. He would ask them about their health and other matters. The Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) used to invite girls from to ansar to play with Hazrat Aisha and he also joined them in allowable matters.
- One part for act of devotion (Ibadah)
- Another part for his social obligation to his family.
- One part for his own rest and comfort.
